MicroPython is a lightweight implementation of Python, created with microcontrollers in mind - where memory is measured in kilobytes and clock speeds in megahertz. But could it work as an init system in Linux? Does it offer solutions that could be beneficial in this context? In this presentation, we’ll take a look at MicroPython, analyze the Linux boot process, and explore whether it can be used to manage system startup. There will be a bit of theory, some experiments, and conclusions - you're invited to explore together!
Deep visibility into your Python app is the backbone of successful production deployment. Join me for my talk where I'll share my recent journey adopting OpenTelemetry - the open-source framework that's rapidly becoming the industry standard for observability. I will try to provide a comprehensive overview of OpenTelemetry, diving into its capabilities, the problems it solves, and the rich ecosystem of tools and integrations available. My goal is to balance theory with hands-on examples and practical insights from implementing it in a large-scale Python Django application.
